You have to get a piece of content out there, whether it’s a blog post, video, podcast or an image, and your brain goes completely blank. You stare at your computer screen trying to think of a great idea but all you can think of is what you’re having for lunch instead.
Coming up with content ideas is not always easy. That’s why I have created this list below, to give you some quick ways to get those ideas flowing and that content created!
Here are 10 content creation ideas for affiliate marketing, in no particular order of importance:
#1 – Product Reviews
A no-brainer for every affiliate marketer are product reviews.
It can be a product you use often, one you want to get or even do reviews for products that haven’t been released yet (launch jacking). Simply list out the benefits, features and general information about the product. And of course, drop your affiliate link to that product wherever you can.
#2 – Top Ten Tips About ___
Articles that contain lists (listicles) are hugely popular. You’re reading one right now. You can create these on so many topics that you shouldn’t ever run out of them.

#3 – Book Reviews
There are hundreds of books based around online marketing. You can create a review of your top books and share them with others.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a physical book, digital book or audiobook, it’s the content that matters. Just create a piece of content that goes over what you learned, what you like and also what you didn’t like about the book.
And of course, when linking to the book always use your affiliate link (we’re all here to make money aren’t we? !!)
#4 – Beginners Guides
We all have to start somewhere and most people start with beginners guides. These types of content pieces can get a ton of shares and actually help people get started.
And there are no limits again to what you can create:
- A Beginners Guide To Using An Autoresponder
- A Beginners Guide To WordPress
- A Beginners Guide To YouTube
- A Beginners Guide To SEO
- A Beginners Guide To Blogging
- A Beginners Guide To Creating A Podcast
You can make these guides as in-depth as you choose. But the more in-depth the better, as these pieces of content can be shared for years to come if they are good.
#5 – This Vs That
When people are looking to buy something, quite often they need to know what the differences are between two popular choices. So your mission here is to create a piece of content that goes through the positives and negatives of each one.
Things like:
- Aweber Vs GetResponse
- WordPress Vs Wix
- ClickFunnels Vs GrooveFunnels
- Apple Vs PC
- Free Website Vs Paid Website
Again, tons of pieces of content you can create here.
#6 – Have A Rant
If you want to connect with your audience, then you need to show some personality. Have opinions on things and don’t be afraid to share them (although a word of warning, try to avoid religion and politics as the arguments can go on for days!).
Choose something that has pissed you off and share what it is. It could be bad marketing, annoying subscribers, or even the neighbour blasting music through the wall.
People connect with people. Don’t be afraid to polarize as it will create a much more engaging tribe who love what you do.
#7 – How To Do XYZ
When someone wants to know ‘How to‘ do something, then they head into Google and type in just that. That’s why having content pieces that show people how to do something can be very beneficial.
Topics like:
- How To Install WordPress
- How To Create A YouTube Video
- How To Write Compelling Sales Copy
- How To Rank A Website
- How To Get Free Leads
- How To Market An Affiliate Product
Think of things you have Google’d because you didn’t know how to do it. Then convert those topics into content.
#8 – Things You Didn’t Know About Me
This is a super easy one to do. Create a piece of content that shares things about you that your audience might not know.
You can be as specific and quirky as you want here:
- Something that happened to you as a child.
- A weird hobby you might have.
- A type of food that you love but others hate (marmite, eew!)
- Share your aspirations of where you want to be in 5 years.
- Tell people what pets you have.
Not only does this make for a good piece of content, it also allows your audience to get closer to you.
#9 – Mistakes
Share ideas about the big mistakes you see happening. It doesn’t have to be your mistakes, it can be other peoples.
You can then turn them into topics such as:
- 3 Things NOT To Do When Creating A Website
- 5 Types Of Links That Kill Your Rankings
- 8 Things To Avoid When Posting On Facebook
- 4 Reasons Why No One Reads Your Content
Just turn several mistakes into individual content and get it out there.
#10 – Share Your Journey
As mentioned above, people connect with people.
By sharing your own journey, you will always have someone who is just one step behind. They will follow your journey, so that they know what to do (and what not to do).
Sharing your journey means you can create content without being an expert. You’re simply sharing what you are doing and detailing it for others to consume.
It’s also a great way to find your tribe, because you will only attract those who are just one level down from where you are.
All you need to do is create regular content and share:
- What you have done
- What has worked
- What hasn’t worked
- What you’re thinking of trying next
- What you have learned
Simply share each step as you progress and you’ll have no problems creating content when you are stuck for ideas.
Summary
I hope these 10 content creation ideas for affiliate marketing help you to come up with ideas super quick. You can create dozens of pieces of content from just one of the tips above. Combine them all and you have no excuses to not be pumping out content like a burst water main!
