In no particular order, here are 7 affiliate marketing mistakes that can prevent you from building a business that can allow you to quit that stinky 9-5:
Mistake #1 – Not treating it like a business
If you ‘dabble’ then the results you get will not be what you’d hope for.
Like everything in life, you get out what you put in.
Treat it like a real business and put the effort in.
Mistake #2 – Lack of focus
There are a bazillion ways to make mon-ey online and a bazillion ways to drive traffic.
If you’re trying several different methods and dozens of ways to drive traffic, then you’re rarely going to succeed in either.
Focus on 1-2 ways of making mon-ey and 1-2 traffic sources UNTIL you succeed.
Mistake #3 – Shiny objects
Which brings us nicely onto those pesky shiny objects.
Look, EVERYTHING looks appealing when you see someone making 10k a month with it.
But it doesn’t mean that it will be easy for you to do the same.
They have taken the time to master their craft and you must do the same.
The grass is only greener where you water it.
Mistake #4 – Lack of effort
You must be willing to do the work.
There are shortcuts to help you get there but there are none that will allow you to do no work and get results.
Universal laws always apply.
Mistake #5 – Not setting goals
There will be times where you feel like you ARE doing the work, ARE focusing and ARE following a proven system.
But you’re not getting results.
That’s where setting goals comes in.
Rather than focus on the lack of results, instead focus on the end result.
You’re NOT quitting until you get there and nothing is going to stop you.
Mistake #6 – Not building an audience
If you want to make affiliate sales, then you need people to sell to.
Your audience is key to your success.
Build that email list.
Grow that Facebook group.
Gain more YouTube subscribers.
Whichever method you choose, spend a lot of time growing your audience.
Mistake #7 – Not having a mentor
One thing I learned early on, is that you simply cannot do it all alone.
You need someone who is getting the results you want to show you how.
To bounce ideas off.
To encourage you.
To keep you motivated.
To keep you on the right path.
You wouldn’t get on a plane without a pilot, so why try living your life trying to fly your own plane?
Every top business person, athlete, musician in the world hires a coach.
There’s a reason for that.
